We went to the Auckley Show this year after an absence of two years, when Auckley was on the same date as our Perseid Meteor Watch. Different date this year, so we returned there. But the weather, usually good for the Auckley Show, was terrible, heavy cloud, high winds and very cold.
We didn't even get the solar telescopes lined up with the Sun, so the big binoculars were used and the Celestron 8" was used for terrestrial targets, like flailing tree branches. We did have the photographs on display and the Name a Star project which progressed well there with two stars named.
We had Lesley and Dave, Vic, Sandra, Mark, Elaine and Paul. Peter wasn't feeling well enough to be there. Photos taken by Paul Booker of Wong.
